Illustrative posters
With each poster, experimenting with visuals and text is something I love to do. At the end of each project, I want my posters to stop the viewer in their tracks just to look at them. I believe even more that a great poster isn’t just for viewing, but to display. So I start every project asking myself what I and others would actually consider putting on their walls.
So what are the challenges to making posters at the level I try to aim for? Color, hierarchy, text, and time. Every one of those things in a poster has to work together to actually work. Trying new techniques is a challenge and an opportunity rolled into one. The reward of trying new things can lead to opening new avenues and bring diversity to all designs.
Every poster starts with multiple ideas brought into the sketchbook. From there, usually the final product never looks like the sketch, but pieces of all the sketches will be found in the posters. I bring bright colors that pop out and contrast with each other to make them stand out. Whether it’s an advertisement, movie poster, quotes, or so much more, I feel as if I put my soul into each piece.
