Advertising Minizine
The idea for this was simple. To promote advertising within the younger generation and to highlight how influential and beneficial being a part of this industry is. One of the objectives was to bring real experience that young professionals can relate to.
The minizine had a wide variety of challenges. I knew the subject of advertising very well and had my own experience, but the difficult part was picking what topics I would focus on. As well as how I would structure and organize my topics and ideas.
Getting the readers’ attention was important to me as well. I focused on the cover, trying to highlight the creative side of advertising. Within the writing and design, simplicity, authenticity, and relatability were priorities. Instead of getting an already successful advertiser, I went with college students, and what they’re doing to prepare. It gives comfort and valuable information because these are the people that the reader can relate to.
